Study on the implementation of Directive 2009/43/EC on transfers of defence-related products

GRIP wrote a report for the European Commission’s DG Enterprise and Industry on the implementation of Directive 2009/43/EC simplifying terms and conditions of transfers of defence-related products within the Community. The study aimed to identify and analyse challenges in the implementation of the Directive and obstacles encountered by its main beneficiaries, i.e. EU Member States and the European defence companies.

Directive 2009/43/EC aims to simplify arms transfer rules among EU Member States and reduce administrative burden related to licencing procedures for companies and national authorities.
