Mémier Marc

Marc Mémier has been an associate researcher at GRIP in the “Conflict, security and Governance in Africa” research unit since 2012. He focuses on the improving of human security, conflict prevention and strengthening of the rule of law in Central and West Africa, with a main focus on regional conflicts, terrorism, criminality and transnational traffics in West Africa and Sahel.  

Mémier holds a Master’s degree from Grenoble Institute of Political Studies (International Organisations) and Grenoble Law faculty (where he chose International Security and defence as a specialty). He studied African studies at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles). For the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), he worked with the civil society in Congo-Brazzaville in the framework of the legislative elections in 2012.  At the moment, he is an associated expert in human rights at United Nations Office for West Africa (UNOWA) in Dakar.
